التكرار والتشابه

مشغلات متطابقة

تحتوي بعض المشغلات على ألعاب بأسلوب السلاح الضوئي مدرج في النظام جنبًا إلى جنب مع أوضاع الألعاب الرياضية الأخرى. أثناء الدعم، تضمنت بعض الأنظمة الملحق في الصندوق، بينما احتاج البعض الآخر إلى الشراء بشكل منفصل. أول سلاح ضوئي كان لمشغل أوديسي مع لعبة شوتينغ غاليري، كانت لعبة اختيارية. ضمنت بعضها لاحقًا مع النظام في حزمة.

بينما استمر انهيار ألعاب الفيديو 1983 لمدة ثلاث سنوات دون ابتكار والمزيد من الركود، كان انهيار ألعاب الفيديو 1977 حدثًا فوريًا، لأن ما تسبب في ذلك هو وجود مشغلات تعتمد على الخرطوشة مثل فيرتشايلد تشانيل إف للعام السابق، وأتاري 2600 الشهير، من بين العديد من الأشياء الأخرى التي كانت متوفرة في السوق.
إن القدرة على شراء ألعاب جديدة وأفضل ومختلفة لنفس المشغل بسعر مخفض، بدلاً من العديد من المشغلات المماثلة التي تشغل مساحة أكبر واتصالًا على التلفزيون، تؤدي إلى سقوط المشغلات المخصصة لصالح التقنيات الأفضل. كان التحول مفاجئًا، لذلك سارعت الشركات المصنعة لاستبدال أو بيع التقنية القديمة.
فكرت أتاري في إنشاء مشغل يعمل بالخرطوشة ثانية لتنفيذ فائض المعالجات من خط المشغلات المخصصة لها، والذي اتخذ شكل أتاري غيم براين ليصدر في عام 1978، ولكن الخطة فشلت في النهاية، لأنها ستخلق ارتباكًا مع المزيد من المشغلات الناجحة، ولذلك ألغي.
الثبات في السوق
عدلشاركت أكثر من 200 شركة مختلفة في الجيل الأول، وعلى الرغم من أن أكثر من نصفهم أطلقوا مشغل واحد فقط، إلا أنه لا يزال عددًا كبيرًا من الشركات مقارنة بالجيل الثاني الذي شارك فيه 20 شركة.
كان هناك 18 شركة مصنعة فقط قاموا بإنشاء مشغلات بعد الجيل الأول. البقية لم يدخلوا سوق مشغلات ألعاب الفيديو مرة أخرى. عند إحصاء أولئك الذين شاركوا في الجيل الثاني فقط، أي الشركات التي أصدرت مشغلات جديدة بعد الجيل الأول، هناك 12 فقط.
نينتندو هي الشركة الوحيدة التي شاركت في الجيل الأول ولا تزال تصنع حاليًا أنظمة ألعاب الفيديو.
