English: Jedi Sao Temple or Jedi Sao Lung Temple is located in the area of Tumbol Thanon Thongcahai, Muang District, Lam Parng Province. It was built in B.E. 2461 (1918). The legend indicated that after the death of Buddha (nirvana) for about 500 years, there were 2 Buddhist saints who came from India to enunciate Buddhism. When they arrived at the area where Jedi Sao Lung Temple is located they stayed and had the Buddhist Lent there and disseminated Dharma to people. Pya Milin came to have a Dharma

discussion with them and became religious and declared himself as a disciple and invited 20 filaments of the Elements Childs of Buddha to be contained in a golden casket and placed in a cavity and ordered the construction of 20 pagodas to cover the cavity.

-In B.E. 2464 (1921) a Myanmar Buddhist priest named U Cha Yanta traveled from Mandalay City and participated in the renovation of this temple. The renovation was made in the shape of the pagoda to have a mixed style of art between Lanna and Myanmar arts. In B.E. 2526 (1938) Mr. Boonthiam Kruasarn has found 2 parts of a golden Buddha statue, the head and the body parts which are golden in the rice farm and presented to Jedi Sao Lung Temple. The craftsman connected the head and the body parts together and it is a Parng Marn Vichai Buddha statue of the Chiang Saen era. It was called by the villagers as Pra Saen Saew Thong Kham. It is the first golden Buddha statue to be registered as a National antiquity.
