الهوية الكندية
تشير الهوية الكندية إلى الثقافة والخصائص والحالة الفردية لكون أحد الأفراد كنديًا، وأيضًا إلى الرموز والتعبيرات العديدة التي تميز كندا والكنديين عن الأشخاص والثقافات الأخرى في العالم.
ترجع المؤثرات الرئيسية على الهوية الكندية إلى أوائل القرن السابع عشر، عند وصول المستوطنين الفرنسيين إلى أكاديا ووادي نهر سانت لورانس والمستوطنين البريطانيين إلى نيوفاوندلاند واستيلاء البريطانيين على فرنسا الجديدة في عام 1759، وأيضًا ترجع إلى سيطرة الثقافتين البريطانية والفرنسية، التي تلت ذلك، على التطور التدريجي للهوية القومية والإمبريالية.
خلال القرون السادس عشر والسابع عشر والثامن عشر والتاسع عشر لعبت الأمم الأولى دورًا رئيسيًا في تطور المستعمرات الأوروبية في كندا، بدءًا من دورها في دعم الاستكشافات في القارة وتجارة الفراء وصراعات القوى بين الدول الأوروبية حتى تكون شعب الميتي. ومازال فن السكان الأصليين الكنديين وثقافتهم، والتي استمرت من القرن العشرين حتى اليوم الحاضر، يؤثر تأثيرًا ملحوظًا على الهوية الكندية.
