تسجيلٌ مَرئِيٌّ ومَسمُوعٌ أو عملٌ مُوسيقيٌّ مَوجُودٌ سَلفاً في النِّطاق العامِّ، وقد مرَّت أَكثر مِن خمسين سنةً على أَدائِه أَو تسجيله.(CPI art. L211-4).

الرَّجاء الانتباه إِلى أَن الحقوق المَعنويَّة لا تزال ساريةً حتَّى عندما يَكُون العمل في النِّطاق العامِّ. وهي تشمل على سبيل المثال: الحقَّ في احترام اسم المُؤَلِّف وجُودة عمله (CPI art. L121-1)، ولذلك فإِنَّ نسبة العمل لمؤلفه تظلُّ إِلزاميَّةً.

↑ لا يُؤخَذ تمديد حقوق التَّأليف والنَّشر بالحسبان إلا في حال كون العمل مُوسيقيَّاً وكان مُؤَلِّفه، أو مُؤَلِّفوه، مُصنَّفِين بأَنَّهم ماتوا خدمةً لفرنسا. في الحالات الأُخرى، يُطبَّق بند 70 عاماً بعد وفاة المُؤَلِّف (انظر هذا البيان الصَّادِر عن محكمة النَّقض).
