A university professor demands five million pounds in compensation from Swvl Passenger Transport Company!

On the twenty-ninth of this month, the South Cairo Court will hear the lawsuit filed by a university professor demanding Swvl Passenger Transport Company to pay a compensation of five and a half million pounds due to their breach of the agreement with him regarding the rental contract of buses he owns after being used by the company since 2019 without their obligation to pay his financial dues. They need to make an agreement between them.

The university professor, Dr. Yasser Anan in his lawsuit that he bought two buses from Ford based on an offer from the company to investors to buy the buses and rent them to the company in 2019 in exchange for a financially attractive offer to expand the company’s activity, and that he received the buses and their licenses and adhered to the operating schedule submitted to him by the company, but the latter manipulated the application for operation. In the application of accounts as well, he was surprised that he was offered sums that did not match the real operating value.

His lawsuit before the court stated that he was asking the company for an amount exceeding one and a half million pounds, the difference between the actual operating amounts (the value of the amounts and fines for delaying payment according to the contract) and what the company paid him, according to the terms of the contracts concluded between them, and that the company had stopped disbursing dues for operating the two buses after A complaint was submitted against her to the Public Prosecutor, which is a violation of the terms of the contract.

Dr. added. Yasser Anan that the terms of the contract have a penalty clause of 2 million pounds on each bus for those who violate the terms of the contract, and demanded the company to pay five and a half million pounds for the rest of his dues and the penalty clause.

The company was announced that its legal representative will appear before the court in Cairo to hear the company’s statements in the lawsuit, especially since the plaintiff is still paying bus installments without getting any compensation after the company stopped the exchange of the operating value without giving reasons.[1]
