من الصعب تعيين [[كتلة]] السِّماك الرامح بدقة ولكنه قريب من [[الشمس|كتلة الشمس]] وتقدر كتلته بنحو 5و1 [[كتلة شمسية]]. والنجم قريب منا وكبير بحيث يمكن قياس قطره الظاهري بسهولة وهو يقدر بنحو 021و0 [[دقيقة قوسية|ثانية قوسية]] وهذا يعني أن قطره يبلغ أكبر من قطر الشمس نحو 25 مرة (أي أنه منتفخ).
