تحتل نجوم بيتا سيفي نطاق ضيق في [[رسم هرتزبرونغ-راسل|مخطط هرتزبرونغ-راسل]] بالقرب من نهاية نجوم حرق ال[[هيدروجين]] ما يقرب من 10 إلى 20 [[كتلة شمسية]]. أعضاء مجموعة نجوم بيتا سيفي تسمى أيضا نجوم بيتا كانيس ماجوريس، نسبة لبيتا كانيس ماجوريس، المعروف أيضا باسمه التقليدي [[مرزم]].<ref name="daviddarling" />
