The main purpose of Highway England HE Department is to give the high quality level of service for both road drivers as well as stakeholders by providing an effective environment for the company. Nowadays the Government are improving, managing and running the strategic road network which in turn will achieve the efficiency savings to customers and value for money to taxpayers (Department for Transport, 2015). HE applies a high level of supply chain strategies by selecting proper partners and contractors to work with in order to provide a safe and an efficient road network that fulfils the need of road users. Its supply chain strategy applied when HE and high way suppliers work together to deliver shared objectives, performance and improvement gained by collaborating on structures, and committing to improve and provide the ability and capacity (Highways England, 2015).
