عادت الفرق الأمريكيّة المُتناثرة برّاً عن طريق الشاطئ الشماليّ إلى [[بيرتيفيل (كيبك)|بيرتيفيل]] التي عبروا منها إلى سوريل، ولم يصل بعضهم إليها حتى 11 يونيو. جمع سوليفان 2500 جنديّ تحت قيادته وأراد بدء معركةٍ من جديد في سوريل، ولكنّ تفشّي الجدري وظهور انشقاقاتٍ وشائعاتٍ تقولُ إنّ الأسطول البريطانيّ عازمٌ على القدوم مرةً أخرى أقنع سوليفان أنّ وقت الانسحاب قد حان.<ref name="Stanley129_30">[[#Stanley|Stanley]], pp. 129–130</ref> بحلول 17 يونيو كان [[الجيش القاري]] قد غادر [[مقاطعة كيبك|المقاطعة]]، بعد أن حاولوا حرق [[مونتريال]] وتدمير حصن سانت جان وأي زوارق حربيّة قادرة على الإبحار في [[بحيرة شامبلين]].<ref name="Stanley130_2">[[#Stanley|Stanley]], p. 130–132</ref>
