دارا (بلاد ما بين النهرين)

دارا أو دارس ((باليونانية: Δάρας)‏) كانت مدينة حصن روماني شرقي هام في شمال بلاد ما بين النهرين على الحدود مع الإمبراطورية الساسانية. بسبب أهميتها الإستراتيجية الكبيرة، ظهرت بشكل بارز في الصراعات الرومانية الفارسية في القرن السادس، مع معركة دارا (Battle of Dara) الشهيرة التي وقعت أمام جدرانها في عام 530. لا تزال الأسقفية السابقة في رؤية تربوية كاثوليكية (Titular see) متعددة. اليوم تحتل قرية أغوزر (Oğuz) التركية في مقاطعة ماردين، موقعها.
